With the completion of my last publication, the AP Calculus prep book, all of my math books, including SAT Math, SAT II Math Level1 and II, and AP Calculus AB.BC are now complete. While creating this series of math texts has brought great pleasure to my career, my only wish is that these books will help the many students who are preparing for college entrance. Since 1992, I have had the honor and the pleasure of working with numerous students and realized the need for prep books that can simply explain the fundamentals of mathematics. These books are built on many years of research and experience in each field. Most importantly, the questions in these books focus on building a solid understanding of basic mathematical concepts. Without understanding these solid foundations, it will be difficult to score well on these exams. These books emphasize that any difficult math question can completely be solved with a solid understanding of basic concepts. As the old proverb says, “Where there is a will, there is a way.” I still remember vividly one fifth-grader who was the last in his class who eventually ended up at Harvard University seven years later. I cannot stress enough how such perseverance of the endless quest to master mathematical concepts and problems will triumph. The effort put by Dr John Chung in composing “Dr. John Chung's SAT Math” book is highly appreciable. Going through the tips and practicing all the tests will definitely improve students' test scores significantly. Some of the problems’ complexity is one notch higher than that of actual SAT test problems. So practicing this way will help the students better prepared with more confidence. There are circumstances where the solution could be explained in simpler way.
This book assumes that the students are familiar with required math concepts. So without appropriate math fundamentals, an attempt to use this book may discourage the student to continue further.
The students who achieved consistently B+ or more in their school math grades will really enjoy working through all the tests. However the students who are below average in their math grades may get disappointed because they need help on some complex problems. For such students McGraw-Hill Education SAT 2015 will help a lot. Gruber’s Complete SAT Guide is another good book for the students who wanted to review concepts.
The students who are self-motivated, focused, and hardworking can use the following three books and achieve great scores. This way they can save lot of time and money without going to SAT Test Prep centers.

This is the first time I ever wrote a review, but I felt a need to do it. I bought Dr. Chung's book for my son. I thought it was a bit pricey, but I found it was well worth it. It's really for those wanting to get well into the 700's. My son did all the tips and all the practice questions. The book assumes you have a good foundation. It really helped my son master the hard questions that he was missing. He left the SAT test thinking he had scored 760 at minimum. He ended up scoring 720 and was disappointed, until he realized that the score was still 50 points higher than the first time around without Dr. Chung. The questions and answers are clear. I have read some reviews that there are some errors, but I went through the questions myself and didn't find any errors. I did find one or two instances where I felt a different and simpler strategy would have solved the problem. Overall, I love this book and will treasure it in case my son needs it for the GSAT. It's definitely not for the faint of heart. I posted this review several months after I bought this book, so I could report on my son's SAT results. My son missed only three math questions to get 720. I highly recommend this book and it's well worth the price.

Dr. Chung's was the last step before taking my SAT after being out of school for many years. I had a lot of refreshing to do before I even reached this point. There are at least one or two answers in here that were edited wrong. They are quite obvious, however.
What I can advise is this is the last step in math practice when already scoring 580+ on practice exams in Math. Concepts and explanations are wonderful. Some may require some online research to see WHY they work, as there isn't much reasoning.
Do not time yourself doing these exams, you will be extremely disappointed in your score or timing. These tests are NOT comparable to the actual SAT. Take your time, learn the methods.
What this book helps with is revisiting logical thinking instead of pencil(calculator)pushing out numbers. It helped me find shortcuts fast to many math questions but also helped me think on my toes during the other sections of the test.
Interesting enough, one method explanation in here was almost the same exact lvl 5 question that appeared on my exam. I was surprised and was able to tackle it in mere moments when I recognized it. When you make the connection to the methods offered you will breeze through problems you may have felt were previously impossible.
Do realize the questions asked in this book for practice are NOT like official SAT math questions for the most part. They are harder and require more steps. This is a good thing in my opinion, as it will make you feel quite confident come test day.
I do highly suggest this book for anyone looking for an edge on the math section, but you need to already in the 600-ish range to find this helpful. If you have enough time with this book, plus using official SAT exams as application of what you learn within here you will surely push your score to 700-near perfect in Math.
